Going Batty!

This is one of the best Nonfiction Bat books I have found for Kinders.

  1. This pack looks incredible. Just curious--was the writing done by Kinders?? I just don't think mine are ready and when I try to over-do, it makes us all a little "batty" :) Also, do you use a curriculum at your school or are you allowed to created and use these amazing thematic units at your discretion? Again, trying to fit it all in, and having some serious anxiety! Thanks. You're truly an inspiration !

    1. I taught first grade last year so their writing is a little better than Kinders. :) For them you could cowrite a sentence and have them copy it if you don't think they are ready for more. I do not have a set curriculum at my school that I have to use. PTL!!!

    2. Well, I feel a little better, then :) The expectations for the kinder-kids increases every year! THANK YOU so much for taking the time to respond. I love your products, have been following a couple of years now, and admire you so much. YES, PTL that you can use your creative genius routinely in your class--if I could, I would likely own everything you produce! haha! Thanks, again!

  2. I'm imagining you little guys singing vowel bat along with this unit. Looks like a whole lot of fun combined with great learning.

    1. My kids beg for Vowel Bat every day! Isn't music a wonderful way to teach? And they remember it so well, making it meaningful! YAY!

  3. I bought this unit last year and my kiddos loved it. It might be my favorite of all your units. I moved to PreK this year because I changed schools (much needed). I love my new school but miss kinder so much! This is me whining. Anyways, I just wanted you to know I adore your bat unit and here in Austin, my class always celebrated bat night by meeting at the bridge and watching all the bats fly out. :) It's the perfect way to wrap up your fabulous unit!
