Have you ever been to the I Teach K conference?  It is by far my FAVORITE conference EVER!  Not only is it a great opportunity to learn some new & great things but it is also so much fun meeting new people.  Last year my friends and I (thank you Rachelle Smith) started what we hope to be an annual tradition.... a HUGE Blogger Meetup during the I Teach K conference.   (By some chance if you haven’t heard of the I Teach K, or want to read more about it, or see a video clip, click (here) or on the photo to follow the link.)

This year SDE is also starting something new so they've agreed to let me give away a ticket to the I Teach K conference in Vegas and a ticket to the Common Core Academy.  The Common Core Academy is a brand new format and we are super excited about the possibilities. Click on the photo or (here) to see a video clip and read about this new exciting workshop! BTW, you may want to know that Kim Adsit, Kathy Griffin, Vanessa Levin, and I will all be presenting at this event!

So how do you enter? Just leave a comment below and I will randomly select the winner using an online generator. The first name selected will get to choose between the two events, the second name selected will get to attend the other event, with FREE registration!
The winner simply needs to follow my facebook page and leave a NUMBERED comment in the comment section below.  For example,  the first few comments might look like this.  1.  My name is Tammy King and I would love to go!!
                          2. I really want to see Kim Adsit.  I hope my number is picked!
The drawing will be held on Wednesday, June 12th and you
will have 24 hours to claim the prize once the announcement is made!
UPDATE:  I thought the numbering system was a brilliant idea until I realized people were entering at the exact same time!  :)  So disregard my not so brilliant idea.  Ha!!!
P.S. Thank you Kim Adsit for letting me "steal" your slides!  Love you!

My sweet friend,  Debbie Clement also has a giveaway so jump over to her blog to increase your chances of winning.

Coming Soon.... a new TPT resource to help you get organized!

Shabby Apple Winner!

If I don't hear from Mrs.  Rippel by Sunday evening another winner will be chosen!

Want to go to Vegas?  coming soon.....

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

School is out for the Summer!  Woot!  Woot!  I am really looking forward to not having to set the alarm for awhile.  :)  I have several conferences to get ready for (HINT: Big giveaway coming soon!  Vegas anyone?)  but I also plan to spend a little bit of time floating in the pool and playing with these little sweeties.

Anywhoo....  Here's how we spent our last week of school.  We had lots of fun reading different versions of The Three Billy Goats Gruff
Here are our favorites!

We learned a fun Troll song and then we made inferences about it.  (excuse the blurry pictures..GRRRR!)

We drew our own billy goats.

Problem and Solution for the Three Billy Goats Fluff.

Troll Poems  (we used adjectives to fill in the poems)

Persuasive writing  (No you don't need to have your eyes checked.
This picture is blurry too).  WANTED:  Photographer
This chick is not a good picture taker.   Obviously! :)

Building Bridges
We looked at pictures of bridges online and paid attention to the different shapes and patterns we saw.  Then the kids planned out their bridge and made it without any direction from me.
They all turned out different and I loves listening to them talk about why they were building their bridges a certain way.

 Troll Glyphs

You can click on the image below to view the unit on TPT.
The unit is on sale until Monday evening.

If you haven't commented on the Shabby Apple giveaway it isn't too late!  The winner will be drawn tomorrow night.
